Hypnosis - Pre-lesson

Hypnosis is one of the most powerful tools known to man. It is an altered state of mind in which the critical factor of the mind is usually bypassed and one is more open to suggestions. In this series of articles I will try to help you understand your mind better, influence people better and yes, being able to apply hypnosis.
Use of hypnosis dates as far as back in ancient Egypt, in which they took their sick to the "Sleep Temples" to be cured. Hypnotic-like inductions were used to place the individual in a sleep-like state, although it is now accepted that hypnosis is different from sleep.
General effects of hypnosis are, among else, are higher suggestibility and more focused attention. So, that means you can bypass the critical factor of the mind and your suggestions will become much more powerful.
In the next (first) lesson/article I will teach you how to induce hypnosis in a method called "Progressive Relaxation" and will point out it's pros and cons, plus a bit about what happens in it.
